Yuuri and Viktor together in a train

This is Yuuri and Viktor on their way home from practice. This wasn’t particularly done with the image of a parting scene in mind, but due to the way the light falls and the symmetry that is daring created from the layout, it somehow became a moody and lonely picture. I originally thought about putting them on a vehicle, but I ended up modeling this after a train that actually runs in Kyushu. This was drawn with a lot of detailed research on the interior of the train.

This is from the MIRACLE!!! on ICE booklet, which came with the January edition of Animage. There were some interesting tidbits in the interview section with Hayashi Yuuichirou (the designer for the ED), so I translated them. Please take these translations with a grain of salt!
